The Museum of Ashe County History stands as a beacon of cultural preservation and history in the heart of Ashe County, North Carolina. The Moonshine & Music exhibit, opened on April 30, 2016, is a testament to the museum's dedication to historical authenticity and immersive storytelling.

At the heart of the Moonshine & Music exhibit lies a life-sized diorama showcasing mid-twentieth-century moonshine production. This meticulously crafted display features a copper pot still confiscated by the Ashe County Sheriff's Department, offering visitors a glimpse into the clandestine world of bootlegging. Every detail, from the reclaimed '39 Chevrolet car to the authentic raccoon baculum used to facilitate moonshine flow, immerses visitors in the exciting world of distillation.
