Heather Butler
Art Teacher, Northwest Elementary School
Heather Butler teacher K-5 Art at Northwest Elementary School in Greenville, NC, in the Pitt County School District. She taught high school art in Martin County for fourteen and a half years and has been teaching elementary art in Pitt County for a year. Heather believes that art is for everyone, because it tells our stories and shows who we are. In 2022, she was selected to be a part of Cohort 11 of Art21 Educators, where she spent a week in New York City with eleven other educators from around the United States and the world. As part of the summer institute and yearlong intensive program, she collaborated and learned new ways to incorporate contemporary artists and themes into her classroom.
