Catherine Swain is the Director of Marketing for the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. A NC native, she leads the creative, multimedia and education / outreach divisions for the agency.
She brings 25 years of experience creating, implementing and managing marketing and content initiatives for a variety of major media brands including AOL, MTV, VH1, CMT, Nickelodeon, Smithsonian, TED, Univision, Ticketmaster and LiveNation. Most recently she led branding and digital strategies for top-tier artists and thought leaders, rolling out extensive campaigns across various media outlets and platforms. She has also spearheaded the development of digital and mobile applications and worked to develop content strategies for a variety of brands seeking to increase engagement.
She has been involved with a number of associations and organizations over the years, including the Elon University Alumni Board, Carrboro ArtsCenter, Leadership Music Association, Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Recording Industry Association of America, Americana Music Association and the International Bluegrass Music Association, TED and ASPCA.
